Bounties
What TornLife's research has established about Bounties, and the questions players asked about it.
What TornLife has verified
- A bounty is claimed by hospitalising the target, via the Attack button on their profile or Claim on the Newspaper Bounties page, whether in Torn or abroad. You can no longer claim a bounty you set yourself. The 2017 patch made claiming stealthable. (documented; Bounty › Basic Info, )
- The Torn Wiki (2021 capture) says each player has 10 bounty slots at one time. Bounties can be placed on any account except developers, or on staff for doing their job as staff. A 50% listing fee applies, plus an optional 50% anonymous fee, so an anonymous $10 bounty costs $20. (documented; Bounty › Basic Info, )
- Multiple bounties can stack on one target. The bounty list shows one row per target, with the highest-value bounty displayed, and your own bounties appear at top in red or green. (confirmed by Torn; Bounty › Basic Info, )
- Unclaimed bounties expire after 7 days according to the 2021 wiki capture. (documented; Bounty › Basic Info, )
- Bounties are listed in the bounties section of the Newspaper. The wiki says they suit enemies you cannot beat, hospitalising without spending energy, and earning merits and money. (documented; Bounty, )
- The 14 Feb 2017 patch moved the 10 bounty limit to the lister rather than the receiver, allowed up to 10 bounties placed at once (target gets a single event), allowed any reward value (even $1), and set a listing fee of 50% with an additional 50% for anonymity. (confirmed by Torn; Bounty changes : 14/02/17 — changes to Bounty (2017-02-14), )
