So now that respo is out, or at least the base engine, how do you feel this will affect the mobile data usage? Most people who play on phone with 3g/4g are somewhat limited, and I was just curious how people perceive this.

I haven't really monitored it yet but could this be a potential issue? It seems there are a lot ore graphics loaded when you play in terms of items etc.. Can you disable this? And if so would you need to enable it again when on PC?

Pretty sure most of it is basic coded boxes rather than large graphical images. I could see it having some but not a large impact. That's my guess anyways.

You must have a pretty shit phone / service then, it's loading the same as it was prior to RESPO for me.

I doubt it'd be much heavier on peoples data usage, mobile browsers tend to offer optimization functions and RESPO is supposed to be optimized which if it's the case it could actually be faster and eat less data than old Torn. We wont really know until the server is at an absolute stable state but fingers crossed.

So far, it isn't.

Downloading over 1mb of data per page load is not what I'd consider mobile-friendly.
In fact, one of my friends has greatly reduced Torn usage because of it.

Will it get better? Probably, it just isn't optimized yet.



Now, for those claimingshitty devices and services, usage has beenmeasurably worse.

Even if Torn still opens like before for you (it does, for me), it doesn't mean it's not heavier, it just means that you're still on a faster connection than the "minimum bar" needed-- people on the lower end will feel the difference as the bar raises past them.

So far data usage has more then trebled. Went up from 6-10MB daily to between 30 and 50MB daily. That's not mobile friendly :|

What do you expect form a Blackberry, RIM have removed all handsets from Vodafone UK stores. Returned directly to RIM and are no longer for sale

It depends on your service provider, I have a 15GB a month mobile data usage limit on 4G and play all day on TORN checking mails a gym while Im at work, Since RESPO I have used on 300Mb "'I have used more on Twitter'

Also depends on the country, some countries offer more cause they have a better infrastructure / there is more competition. In other countries the infrastructure is poor or there's a monopoly so they don't have to give you more than they do, cause you have no other options :P The awesome nature of business :/

I'm guessing the data usage is a lot lower now, unless you go to the city page, stay away from that one.



I go on the city, forums, faction and casino mainly on my mobile and since RESPO im at 300Mb mobile usage. Ive played alot too
