Was looking to buy a new lap. Any suggestions on which processor is worth for gaming? Suggestions please
Also please explain what the 3rd generations differ from 4th gen.
Is 4gb ram enough to play all the games out there?
Depends on your budget and expectations. I personally see nothing wrong with a decent i5, in fact I'm running a quad-core i5 overclocked to 4.2ghz and it does more than enough. RAM wise, bump it up to 8GB to be on the safe side. Sure 4GB will run a good amount of games, but with technology progressing so quickly it won't be long until you need 8GB for everything.
Note, I'm not computer genius, I'm just going from experience. Of course you could always go with the 4GB RAM and just upgrade in the future. But for the love of god do it yourself or have a friend do it for you. A mate of mine took his laptop to a local place to have some new RAM sticks put in, the guy tried to charge him £100.. Ridiculous.
ah thanks for ur reply. And feeling so sorry for ur frnd
No worries. Oh trust me, he didn't pay! I installed the RAM for him :)
For gaming the i7 has nothing over the i5. The difference is i7 uses hyperthreading which isn't used in 99% of games, this may change in the future so it's more of a budget thing. As it stands now there's absolutely no reason for a gamer to go with the i7 unless planning for the future. If on a budget I'd just lose the "K"

I think the i7 will have a longer useful life than the i5K without a much larger price tag, overclocking CPUs for gaming is questionable anyways.

Only reason to go for a I7 is for video rendering.

Yeah, stick with the i5 if you don't plan on doing anything crazy. I'd go with a little more ram tho.
As things are right now either one is ok but you should probably go with an i5 if you're looking to save cash but it can never hurt to spend a little extra to future proof your computer with an i7 so it can continue playing games at medium to max settings 3-6 years down the line.
Also if you want to get some ram to go with it then its recommended to get around 16gigs at least seeing as right now some games have 8gigs as the recommended system specs like for the game Watchdogs which can be memory intensive. 2-3 years from now it wouldn't surprise me if games start jumping into the 10-16gig range of recommended ram for higher graphics.

I want to know the reason behind this too

Intels individual cores are stronger, next to no games utilize more than 4 cores.
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-vs-AMD-FX-9590 The simple answer though is that Intel is better for gamers by a long shot, if you don't know which to get or why then it's almost guaranteed that you don't want AMDs 8 cores, if you needed them for something you would probably know you do and why. Also saves money on power.
