The seventh screen is finally a little Cessna slowly moving across the sky.

6 confirmations to travel. This is in contrast to either 2 or 3 return.

Why is that Ched? Somebody have a "good" idea?

Please don't ask me to go and find all instances of too many clicks in your game and post you screenshots like the last time we discussed this.

OK So I just got to Japan after making my 6 (or7) decisions that I wanted to go there...and there is a captcha screen in the way into my destination.....Huh? What is that for? Why doesn't the plane just turn into the destination screen when the clock times out. Why do I have to interact?
Honestly...Please go over these layers and at least review them fo us. Too many steps...
Butters [34298]

How are there 6 confirmations?

1. City

2. Travel Agency

3. Select Destination

(travel cost / time displayed)

4. Travel

5. Confirmation

6. Flying

You could condense the destination selection and displaying of time / cost (ie. steps 3 and 4) into the one step, as is the case for the "mobile" version, but that's just about it.

There is obviously less interaction required when flying back because you A) don't have to go through the travel agency, B) don't have to select a destination and C) there is no need to display cost or time information, so it's pointless even trying to compare the two.

I disagree. Its a game. There is no "travel agency" and we certainly don't need a screen to tell us we are talking to a non-existent Pilot, nor should we care what it costs either. For that matter travel time is irrelevant too. It is what it is and its coded. If I want flowers or rehab or xanax or w/e I have to set the game up to do it for me and wait for the clock to time out and allow the next game action.

A comparison is not about whats happening in the game. Its about a bunch of totally useless steps which, unless ones head is in Torn's la la land and thinks(or likes to pretend) that its real, just wastes our time. That is what I am going on about...and there are 7 screens I think. (not confirmations but screens I have to click in to get to the action I want)

Anyway, what is the point of all the steps??
Butters [34298]

I don't see a problem with it - there are other users who would prefer to see that information and having to click through a few screens isn't that much of a hassle, certainly not as much as you're making out to be.

There are 6 screens for the record - I just went through it myself to be sure and the steps I listed above are what you have to go through when it comes to actually getting on the plane and embarking on the trip to the overseas destination you have chosen.
12Digitdan [5510]

I counted the little airplane as a screen. so 6 or 7?
Either is too many.... 3 maybe but not 6.

Anyway, for me, (and some others I am sure) it is a PITA. We have faction members walking over the RESPO change and this sort of 'no longer easy' is one of the common complaints.

I do get the added step for the city. That makes sense. Too many listings for the sidebar for sure.... So this isn't a RESPO bitch. Just a "whats the point here Ched" thread

If this is a suggestion thread perhaps you could be explicit with your suggestion, and say the steps you'd like.

1. City
2. Travel Agency
3. Select Destination without confirmation

If you'd approached it with a different attitude I would've thumbs'd this up, as I do find it to be too many steps.
Though I will say flying is still easy. Flying in RL is a bit more complex. Flying in Torn is easy, it's just a few buttons to click.
12Digitdan [5510]

Sure
We need to select
1) Travel Agency in the city or your residence
2) Destination with Price and travel time
and
See the little white airplane.
3 steps after you decide to fly. Go to city or property Go to Travel agency, Choose destination IMHO the rest are superfluous
Harsh [443611]

For me, a customisable side bar would be a better idea.

That way if you wanted you could have the Travel Agency already on the left hand side and remove something like Newspaper of Properties
12Digitdan [5510]

Good idea Harsh. That would solve the layers of screens that you have to choose to move forward from tho..
If it was customizable with the confirmation page you wanted form the current selection...Nice!

Crimes also has 4 decisions. Each of the four you have to consciously choose to proceed
On your side bar select
do the Captcha screen
select a crime type
Select the specific crime

1) Travel Agency in the city or your residence
2) Destination with Price and travel time
and
See the little white airplane.

Ok, so you say we should:
1) Click on city / properties
2) Click on Travel Agency / Airstrip
3) Click on destination and boom, you are flying.

when for now Torn only adds a step, which is "Are you really sure you want to spend 2 hours flying someplace and then again other 2 hours to go back?".
You are ready to risk misclicking your destination just because you don't want to spend 2 seconds / 1 click to confirm it.
And what do you think they should put instead of the plane page? Because that one is needed to let the users know they are still flying. Users are limited while flying, so I don't see what is to be gained by... something else. Something has to be there.

You are complaining about unnecessary screens, when actually after you click "Confirm" you can go wherever you want, you are not forced to click on "Continue" and look at the plane (which are the fifth and sixth step you are complaining about).

I'm sorry but I don't get why you just don't close Torn / click on other stuff instead of wanting to remove the confirmation.

First there is not just one step added.. Secondly...Why do people not want to be responsible enough for their decisions to think about them...If I decide to travel then I go select the place (property or city) then select the travel agency. Then select the destination Why do we need to have a screen about telling your pilot something or an are you sure really want to screen You already made 4 distinct decisions to travel. What I am going on about is just how many layers are too many?

If I accidentally click on travel and I get one opportunity to stop Why do I need 4 more?

And...I have played torn for a long time, because I enjoy it. Further to that I am a customer of Cheds. What is the point of suggesting I close Torn and move on? Nothing positive, nothing moving anything forward in that.
Respo has added layers of confirmations at almost every step...I don't happen to think they are needed.
