Do you ever win money or anything besides upgrade points for winning races?
Winning "Official Races" gives you 3pts - 1st, 2pts - 2nd, and 1pt - 3rd plus some unkown amount of driving skill but no money.
Custom races can be set up to have an entrance fee which goes to the prize pool for that race. The first three across the line split the prize pool plus you get an unknown amount of driver skill.
There are two awards that you can also earn:

Hmmm. Too bad. It would give the official races a better feeling of integration into the entire torn game.
