So I bought a bazaar 2-4 days back, and today when I was checking my profile I thought I saw one icon missing; it just occurred to me - I have lost my bazaar.
What happened?
Did I just spent 250 points on a temporary benefit?

You have a Bazaar, just no items in it.
Go here and refresh your icons:
http://www.torn.com/preferences.php
then add some items to it and the icon should reappear.
Did that, still can't see bazaar icon on me.
I can see friends' bazaar, though.
I tried hovering around where icons are on my profile, no ghost links with invisible icon.
I added an item, works now.
However how impractical is this, if only way to access your bazaar after couple days of no-action is to visit your bazaar via a link?

Just leave am over priced item in your bazaar that no one will buy then your icon will stay :)

Visit your Items page and you will see a "Your Bazaar" link towards the upper right hand corner.
Many people leave a billion-dollar-brick in their bazaar. But as the Tsar says, the link to your bazaar is on your item page.
The icons above your name don't show, unless they actively contain current info or items, such as the icons for Bank, Education, Company, etc., as well as the Bazaar.
