Do we still have the faction, trade and global chat windows ? If so how can I get them to work on my iPad ? Thanks

Have you clicked on the "cog" icon at the bottom right of the screen. You can enable and disable the chat boxes from there.
If you can't see the blue icon, it may be buggy.
