For now if mugging started a bit earlier both money transactions will work, so this is not actually a bug. But perhaps something can be done to improve this, it will be checked, thanks.

So you get a share of the money they had on hand when the attack was initiated rather than when the mug button is clicked?

No, money amount is calculated when you will click "mug".
