Alright, so I want to give my tables some more "aesthetic sexyness" by adding a background image to specific cells (mainly header cells). In my faction, we have a table that shows specific stats from the wars that we are currently involved in, and its starting to get a little messy. I believe breaking up the space with background images/colors would help find factions a lot easier.

This is what i have now....

Enemy

Army of Darkness

Agro Bar

Attacks for

Respect For

Attacks Avg

Respect Avg

47.78%(47.36%)

15(11)

67(46)

72(69)

178(172)

I want to create a background for these two cells that FILL the entire cell. I would REALLY love it if I could fill it in with the menu backgrounds that torn has for all it's headers. (EX: look at the side bar's header sections "Information"/"account"/"Areas"/"Lists"/"Specials")

If anyone knows how to apply that, could you help me out by explaining what code I need to use in the "source code" input window. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jorgy

The sidebar is probably using css. I'm not sure you can use that in the forum editor. I haven't tried tbh though. i guess you could try using different background settings / colors inside your tags too

You can do that by editing the post's source code (Tools > Source code) directly.

It's in html but should be quite simple to style.

In html, each table cell is represented by a td tag, like so: <td>Something</td>.
It may already have some attributes, e.g. <td colspan="4">Something</td>, but it doesn't matter. What you are interested in is adding a (or changing the existing) style attribute, with a background color specified. Just find the cell you want to change and add background-color: #rgb; to the style attribute.

In your case, it would look something like this: <td colspan="4">Army of Darkness</td>.
Don't actually change the rest of the styles (like height or text-align), just add the background-color to it. If it didn't have a style attribute, you could simply add it.

Enemy

Army of Darkness

I want to fill the entire cell with the background color (or even an image). How would i go about doing that?

The "enemy" cell is filled with a color. Where the "Army of Darkness" is filled with an image. I want the image to fill the entire cell basically, as well as the "enemy" cell, with its background.

http://www.torn.com/images/donations/energy-red.png <--- Is the background i found on TC's website through the "page source" page with some help my from friend "cmd+f". I tried to find the header backgrounds, but failed. This was my second choice.

Well, I just told you how to do it. Which part didn't you understand? I realize it wasn't the clearest of explanations, but still..

To use an image, instead of defining background-color, use the background property: <td>Contents</td>

How do you create those hyperlinks ^^ the codes I have tried don't seem to work...
could someone write it out in basic format please. Eg. Contents. Ect...

or or an easy way to add screenshots...

^ Click the A button next to the thread on your reply or on create. There are options there to edit and add links etc

Edit: In html to fill the table detail with e.g. black with white text, do the following:

<td bgcolor=#000000><font color=#FFFFFF>This</font></td>

Click the A button then Tools, Source Code then you can paste your own html code e.g.

Further edit:

Adding an image:

Inside the html code:
For example
<td><img src="http://s5.tinypic.com/vyse0z_th.jpg" alt="" border=3 height=100 width=100></img></td>

You can play with the width and height of the image to fit it in as you want
