Let us assume or presume a hypothetical:
My presumption is that:
1. There are very intelligent beings living inside many, or all the other 9 planets in our solar system
2. They live inside those planets because they, like us, could not stop attacking each other, scamming each other, and making everyone into an enemy
3. They are just like us in anatomy, skin, eyes, size and shape (the only difference being they have different languages and history)
Based upon the above hypothetical presumptions, how would life for us change if it were proven to be true and not simply a hypothesis?
Well presumingly if they were like us in terms of hostilities wouldn't the chances be high that they would attack us, Or war, Etc.
If I take the presumption that they live within these planets because they were advanced enough to 1: Be aware of the damage they did to one another ": Have the technological advances required to burrow into a planet, Or survive the interior of a gas giant then it would be likely they may have advanced weapons, After all, We haven't got very far into our Earth's Crust.
So to how life would change. Well for a starters the internet would explode, Conspiracy theorists and so on. NASA and ESA would probably be in awe. Them looking just like us would most likely lead to the conclusion we evolved from the same or similar genetic line, So Evolution would be put under some strain to perfectly explain it.
It could be quite tough for religion to explain as it is.
For the first while it would be quite chaotic, Trying to understand language and so on. If we take the presumption they were discovered by a probe, We would most likely send a bot out to investigate or something similar. If they were like us, Chances are they could see it as a hostile sign and attack it.
A manned trip may occur afterwards, Funding granted due to the discovery.
So life might not change that much, Space organsiations would probably receive much more funding, Perhaps more branches of science both created and funded as well. For the general population, Not a lot would change unless they we're brought into direct contact, Which may lead to destruction, Depending on the nature of the intelligent beings (If they had natures like us, Then there would be destructive and non destructive members of the said species)
Yes the chances would be high; however, I would presume that would not happen since we humans seem to only/mostly attack people who don't give us what we want. Like mafia 'protection' we allow them their freedom if they export only to us, or only do something else, or don't do something specific.
There was a movie that came out very recently titled "Extraterrestrial" in which there was a 'treaty' signed between the aliens and President Eisenhower. Rumors have existed for decades about such a treaty. According to the movie, the treaty is that the aliens get to abduct as at-will, and we can't intervene. Other rumors have circulated that maybe some of the major technological advances that we made early in the last century were party of that treaty, or subsequent dealings.
If they were similar to us though, Would they not attempt to refuse us humans trying to force them to give us what we want? (If they have anything we want that as)
It would sound like an interesting treaty, But if it was true, Why would aliens want to abduct us? If they had the technology to pluck a human off the face of the earth, Then return them without them knowing much about it, Why couldn't they just abduct a whole town if they wanted it, or a city, Or a country. They should also be smart enough to reverse engineer our tech, So we wouldn't have anything they couldn't have, So they really could just take over.
Although as you put it, Just rumors, It would be interesting if it was true though, But could there enough evidence to say its true or false? Probably like most science, You can't always be 100% sure.
The first big change might be earth-centric religions would get shaken up - kinda like when Galileo pointed out the earth revolves around the sun, not the sun revolves around the Earth (as was widely held in the West given a God/human centered universe). I'm sure a closer reading of scripture would resolve this oversight and aliens might be able to be saved.
I agree, but taking the God-believers at their statement that "God created everything in existence" it shouldn't be any stretch at all for them to accept the existence of alien life, if proven, to be just another day in the life...
then again, I think most of those people are highly hypocritical in most areas of their lives, so...
