Metal Gear Solid (MGS)

Does anyone play them cause its seems now a days no one plays Konami any more cause any time i wanna play an online match on MGS 4 guns of the patriots no ones on its takes for ever for a game to come up and i will label the games i know of if there is another that i did not label tell me please

The MGO2 (MGS4's online) servers were shut down some time ago, unless you're referring to SaveMGO's server.

The only Metal Gear game that still has an online mode is Peace Walker, until the release of The Phantom Pain.

well thanks for that at least i know there are other ones but what is peace walker is it 3 or 4 or is it like (MGR) metal gear rising

Peace Walker was originally released on the PSP and was then ported to the PS3 and 360 as part of the HD Collection. It wasn't numbered as Konami didn't want a numbered titled released on the PSP, but Kojima wanted it be MGS5. The events of the game lead into MGSV's Ground Zeroes and several characters involved in MGSV are introduced and developed within the story.

The story and gameplay are handled differently from the previous games in that you will be selecting each mission, rather than playing one continuous mission. This game also introduced the concept of storytelling through tapes (in the series) rather than the usual Codec/radio system in the previous games, and this is where you will learn a lot of information. Unfortunately, they are optional, so it is possible to miss quite a lot.

If you aren't familiar with the game or story, I would suggest playing through it or watching it on Youtube or Twitch, as it is likely the story will be important in MGSV.

Edit: I forgot to mention the game requires quite a bit of grinding, so if that doesn't sound particularly appealing to you, watching it would be a better choice.

i know cause i play MGSV a lot and i have also uploaded my own songs to it and the mission that i found really weird was when you had to save Paz and Chico and my second favorite is the one were you have to destroy the artillery guns i just kill every one and run free its fun or i just get into one of the trucks and drive around and hit everyone and my last fav is when you have to kill the finger and the eye i do it so stealth fully its unbelievable and i know exactly were they are so it is easier and thanks for your comment and a question for you do you like this thread or MGS

The main mission (rescuing Chico and Paz) is what follows Peace Walker, so if you aren't familiar with that story, I imagine Ground Zeroes would appear a bit random.

I haven't actually gotten around to playing Ground Zeroes, as I'm working on finishing the previous games. However, I do enjoy seeing the various strategies people come up with to finish the missions.

To answer your question, Metal Gear is probably my favourite series.

yea same here i like john a lot (Snake's real name) he looks younger in the fifth than the fourth he looks really old

I'm not sure I understood your post. Are you referring to Big Boss when he appears at the end of 4?

no metal gear solid 4 guns of the patriots he is really old and in Metal gear solid 5 ground zeroes he is younger

He only appears at the end of 4 and you play the game as Solid Snake. MGSV takes place 1975 and 1984, while MGS4 takes place in 2014, so that's why he's younger in V. MGSV will likely be about how Big Boss becomes a villain in the Metal Gear games.

i mean that in the 4th he weres that suit that what ever you touch it changes to it and then you get a mask that does the same

That is Solid Snake from MGS1 and MGS2. Big Boss/Naked Snake from MGS3 and MGSV is the man who speaks to him in the cemetery towards the end of the game.

but they are the same through out though cause every single one i have except rising is snake the whole time and excapt for 2 cause you play as raiden but they are all the same person

They are not the same person. Solid Snake (from MG/MG2/MGS/MGS2/MGS4) is a clone of Big Boss/Naked Snake (from MGS3/PW/MGSV).

Yes. Liquid Snake tells Snake that they are clones of Big Boss in MGS1. It is also made very clear that they are different people in the story.

How though i dont really like the first because i cant get passed the first level so i quit but the rest i play and thats probably why i dont get that they are clones

In that case, I would suggest watching the game somewhere.

That's cool. But I really would recommend watching MGS1. It's also necessary to understand MGS2, as the events with Raiden were intended to recreate the events of MGS1.
