being in the UK, its pretty difficult to get a gun, but if you want one it is possible to attain, in America there used to be a bank deal, where if you joined with a bank they would give you a gun

i truly believe that the police should NOT be armed for routine patrols, but that each police unit should have a dedicated SWAT team with guns and body armour

i also think that civilians have the right to defend themselves, but that guns should be difficult to get hold of

I for one am proud that our police are not routinely armed. It appears they are too and an overwhelming majority of police always suggest that they don't want to be armed.

Our police (in the UK) have an overwhelmingly positive reputation, and despite what some edgy people might say, they generally do a good job. I like that they are trained to serve, not to enforce, and there is a key difference. All too often we hear horror stories from the US and whilst bad stuff does happen in the UK it's not quite the same.

On citizens being armed with guns, I don't think we have a need for that either in the UK. I get that American culture is centred around gun ownership but for me it's not really something I care about having here. There's just really no need to have them, and if you want to satisfy a curiosity you can shoot clay pigeons or something.

The police in Ireland are unarmed and they get along just fine.

UK police patrol units don't need weapons because they aren't enforcing the law on a population armed to the teeth, unlike America. A simple baton and taser works well.

I am in favour of non lethal methods of self defence.

Oh, there will be a link. It will be complete bullshit, but there will be link. Numbers can be manipulated to create whatever you want. They manipulate numbers to create climate change although the polar ice caps are growing at a tremendous rate and the polar bear population has more than doubled over the past 30 years. They manipulate numbers to put unemployment rates at 5.5% when it's actually over 15%. When you tell criminals that no matter what they do they will not be put to death for their actions .. that will never make them think twice about committing violent crimes .. NEVER. Oh man, the suggestion is hilarious though! :)

Climate change is real .. it's a slow moving natural process just like evolution. First it was Global Cooling .. we were supposed to be in an ice age by 2015. Remember? Then it was Global Warming and the defunct All Gore movie Inconvenient Truth .. both total shams. Now it's Climate Change .. if you think this is going to affect us like the bought and paid scientist are saying (many of these same scientists were behind Global Cooling) then you might wanna tighten up your tinfoil hat. XD

Of course climate will always change as will we for sure enter another ice age again sometime as we have many time but we are speeding it up rapidly.

What they said is they expect species to start dying out rapidly due to us ruining the planet which is happening. Global temperatures are raising every year with the 10 hottest years ever since records began have been in the last 15 years. Species are dying out faster now than ever before and is gaining momentum.

Guns are everywhere. In every country and every city in the world.

I dont know know about everyone else but I want police to be able to stop an attack instead of waiting 30 minutes for a SWAT team.

You do realize it doesn't matter who set these nutters up they want to kill us or force us to change our way of life , I think the main thing is to make sure our civil rights are not eroded in this war .

Every law abiding citizen should be given a psych-eval and a gun. It should be every citizen's duty to be knowledgeable in the safe and effective use of firearms should the state require them to be called up in defense of the state. Education is key to promoting responsibility to reduce firearm related accidents. Police should have the means to defend themselves and others comparable to the country they reside.
