well i mean cigarettes are based on activating the nicotinic receptors by emulating Acetylcholine, with other bits and peaces thrown in, i wont go into detail. so i mean in theory its just another drug, all be it a legal one on the same route you could just use esc to double your happy
also id say there are plenty of low level happy boosters currently as well as higher ones
We all know what a cigarette is, made of etc..
It satisfies a craving.
I think the key word here used by Op here is regaining.
I can not see a use as with nerve than other players might have

My thought to help to aid your suggestion would be...
Possible use: Special Candy Item
to regain or reverse example: xx% Happy loss of a company special attack
made to take 50% of your happy by jp's.
Maybe with a ??% chance of reversing the happy loss attack to the attacker
even if they used stealth.
Cannot be used as a regular booster.
Possible to purchase in another country that could use more reason
to be traveled to for a special Item.
Cost, location, % and cool down time
would be left up to developers to determine if your suggestion
was used.

Oh yes lets promote Cigs that promote, lung cancer, strokes and heart attacks. I think another item would be more suitable.

My dad passed with lung cancer but I don't see it being caught by a game item.
My thought was candy not real cigs. so no cancer, strokes or heart attacks can be caught
in this virtual game.

Can not see it promoting a problem any more than any drugs in this game or
