So with the whole benefit block thing and the ability to split shares, can you own multiple BB's of the same stock? Say you had enough of PRN for two BB's and you split it in two. Would you get 2 DVD's (or something like that)?

you can have multiple blocks of each stock, yes. However only 1 will give the benefit. You can't gain multiple benefits of the same block yourself (unless friends keeps a BB for you)
But if you have your bank investment maxed out and are already using as much cash as you need for trading and still have cash to spare then buying further BBs can be useful as a further trade option. In simple terms it's a case of buy cheap, sell dear.
