I was thinking it would be nice if there was some kind of event notification when someone attacks, but at the beginning, rather than after the attack. In terms of realism it would make sense - if someone attacks me on the street I'm going to know it's happening immediately, not just once it's over.
Here's an example scenario:
We'll call the Attacker "Larry" and the Defender "Moe".
Larry starts an attack again Moe!
Moe gets an event notification that he's currently being attacked (oh man that's a bummer)
If Moe is fast maybe he can get to his items and take something (drug or med?) before Larry defeats him. Maybe Moe could also have the option to try and run away from this attack.
If Larry was faster, the attack will go as usual.
This would really only be a small change to reward being active at the time of the attack, and it would help during war times when a player might be getting hospitalized repeatedly - they could at least try to run away.
I have noticed getting an event is sometimes slow. It may be faster to watch your life. I have managed to jump on a plane and/or take meds during attacks.
While this makes some sense, I don't think the med part will work.
DrBooWho, I did not mean to come across as shutting your idea down. It is a good idea.
What if the event was your screen is affected when someone attacks? Say it turns red with each attacker hit. Or there is red blotches, like blood splatter with each attacker hit. This may work well with the release of User Activity Status. Since you must be on line for it to work.
The option of jumping on a plane or taking meds are both doable.
It's ok I wasn't offended, I forgot I posted this so didn't look at it again until just now lol
You make a good point though the notifications would probably be too slow. Maybe instead just get a pop-up (like the chat box style) that says you're being attacked, with the option to either try to run away or go to your items page?
