I got 1874353 as a target for the Tree Huggers mission. She currently has a last activity time of 12 hours ago (she might have been inactive when the mission was created though) and her defence is more than 10x my strength (according to my job special), so I seem to be unable to deal any damage (and unable to train up to the necessary levels in the time that I have for the mission. PCP also does not enable me to deal any damage). I assume that impossible missions are not intentional?

No, that's not a bug, current matching system is using all 4 stats to find the target, so such situations are possible. Your stats are also not balanced enough, so you will need to use boosters or group attack.
The target has 3x my total stats and all of them are into a single stat. (My stats are currently quite even...)
A group attack might work, I'm not sure how much of an effect that has.
I'm not aware of any boosters that would allow me to increase my strength with probably at least 5x, which seems to be what would be needed.
I know how it feels, I just lost my first mission to someone that I just didn't have enough speed to beat, even after taking drugs. Missions were bound to get too difficult eventually, it sucks but that's Torn life.
Speaking to the player it seems like she might have spent a whole lot of Army points on defence after being inactive for a while, so her stats might have been significantly different when the mission was assigned.
