Chat Bugged

Hi!

Sort of shocked to realize this hasn't apparently been reported. I know a lot of folks are having random trouble with chat. Every so often you type in a message and when you hit return, it disappears. I've talked to at least 8 people for whom this has been happening and it's been mentioned periodically in our faction chat.

Unable to provide screen shots, as I would have to be psychic and know when it was going to happen and have video going to capture it. Sorry I wish I could provide you live action of what happens, but it is simply as I describe.

So everything else in the game is functioning normally, but let me review this again at random times when I am trying to post something into either a private chat or Faction chat I will randomly see that when I hit return anything I've tried to post disappears completely.

Use Chrome Browser - it is fully updated. I clear my cache regularly. All the "system" things on my end have been checked off and done, but this still happens several times a day. Just somewhat annoying

Yeah i get this too from time to time happened ever since chat was released for me on mobile n desktop

Happens constantly also get issues of typing something in and it does not appear for 5-10 secs so you type it in again and tells you cannot say same thing twice. It is more than annoying. Also get it randomly minimizing itself for no reason at all.

Browser updated cache done all that jazz we usually get told to try.

it happens to me quite a bit. ill be typing away, and sending messages in faction chat, then all of a sudden, the messages I send wont register....

I have to F5 (refresh) my screen, then it works again. But this is only a quick fix, because it happens again later.

I have also had random problems with this. I will type something in a chat and hit return and it disappears. I'll wait a sec and try again and it seems to usually work the second time.

I am usually on mobile with chrome browser or on pc with firefox when this happens.

Will confirm report.

-- and yes same here, usually it works the 2nd time. If you're not watching, it can create some odd conversations if a person doesn't notice their last entry didn't go through :)

The issue was solved recently, and the logs show no signs of the issue. Can you confirm that it still can be reproduced?

This things could be related to your network connection.

Did you fix this in the last 24-48 hours? If beyond that it would seem the problem still exists.

I had the problem as did several faction mates while I was talking to them in chat just in the last few days (as recently as the 12th) so yes the problem still exists.

I cannot control when it occurs , nor predict when as I explained in my original post. It occurs randomly. I have seen delayed posts, but this was not the case. My internet works fine on Facebook, in another text based game and everywhere else on the web, so the problem is specific to Torn. I play movies off of Netflix and Amazon without any challenges, so can't imagine that Torn takes more bandwidth to post a comment in chat than that.

I primarily play Torn at home on my pc plugged directly into my internet, not even on wifi. When I use my phone to log in via wifi, I very rarely chat as I just find it difficult, but for the most all I do when I access by phone is train Energy/take xanax.

Its happened to me within the last 48 hours however nothing real recent. I will keep my eye open to see if it happens again and post here if it does.

hello I am facing the same issue I posted a thread in the bugs and issues forum it was resolved automatically after few hours now it has come again in last 2-3 days "when I try to send any message in faction, trade, personal or global chat my message is not coming also the chaats are lagging I have to refresh the page to see the new chats" It is very annoying as while chaining my chat suddenly stops sending my chats please look into this issues I use Mozilla Firefox here is the link for the previous thread http://www.torn.com/forums.php#!p=threads&f=19&t=15962946&b=0&a=0

also I tried clearing history and cookies....................

confirmed here on chrome... but that could be my awful wifi

The issue is still there but it happens at random times.

Just had it happen again to me about an hour ago and talked to yet another player tonight with good internet who has the same problem.

Can confirm as well.

It probably happens to me once a week, so not a huge deal but I did lose one about a minute or two ago.

Apparantly this is the correct topic to post, so will report the same thing here as i did a couple of hours a go in another topic.
Can read chats, but sending messages is impossible. They disappear into thin air as soon as i hit enter. Using firefox. refreshing, restarting, empty cache etc. did not work.

Don't want to sound pushy, but haven't been able to chat at all for about 9 hours now which is really unpleasant.
Other then that old chatscreens pop up every time i click somewhere or when there is a refresh.

Meanwhile i'm used to the fact that there are some incidental issues and can live with this, but the way it is now makes the game close to unplayable.

You've posted your own bug report? If not, your problems are greater it seems than mine and perhaps need to be highlighted more, as no guarantees when they'll see it here. Hope it's resolved for you soon.
