Rules:

- 1 post/guess per page per player.
- first to post the correct full combination wins.

How to Play:

There are 6 slots, in each slot there is either a number (0-9) or a letter (A-Z). You are trying to find the right combination to break the code. An example guess you might make could be: 11A2BF for example.

Obviously there are a lot of potential combinations!

You are working against each other and as a team. For each guess I will say the following:

# of correct letters/numbers in the correct position
# of correct letters/numbers in the incorrect position
# of incorrect letters/numbers.

However, I don't tell you which positions are right or wrong.

As an example if the password was 123ABC and your guess was 100BAB;

I would respond;

1 correct letters/numbers in the correct position
2 correct letters/numbers in the incorrect position
3 incorrect letters/numbers.

Thus you must deduce which is correct and where it should go.

PRIZES

UNCLAIMED: $100,000 for the first person to get 2 correct letters/numbers in the wrong spots.

You sent $123,456 to Thornsplitter with the message: Special prize for Mastermind game. - Got 1 in the correct position and 1 in the incorrect position before anyone guessed 2 in the incorrect positions.

HandsomePants won $250,000 for the first person to get a correct letter/number in a correct position!

UNCLAIMED: $500,000 for the first person to get 3 correct letters/numbers with 1 or less in the right position.

tebowgator won $750,000 for the first person to get 2 correct slots.

Thornsplitter won $1,000,000,for the first person to have 3 correct slots.

tebowgator won $2,500,000 for the first person to have 4 correct slots.

Hisham won $10,000,000 for the first person to guess the complete correct password.

Prizes stack if a person is able to complete more than 1 of these tasks before anyone else.

Good luck!

Brilliant move. Was hoping it wouldn't take too long for someone to do this.

there is nothing wrong with that. fairly simple way to determine WHICH of the second query's letters was the correct letter. play by your own rules >.<

No as in, there is no Q. Also you used 5 spots instead of 6.

Also if you're trying to deduce that way, it's more efficient to do the first 3 letter twice to see if any of them were correct, if not, take two of the other letters 3 times each in the next guess (or if so, take 2 of the letters and do that again.) You're weeding out more per guess.

1 correct letters/numbers in the incorrect position
4 incorrect letters/numbers.

This doesn't quite fit in with the prizes, but it's actually better than the first prize. I'll give you a prize.
