Anyone here have been or currently playing other similar text-based game like this?
I am not sure if we are allowed to talk publicly about other games similar to torn, certainly cannot mention them by name.
And yes, I have played, and I found only few "copycat" game had any potential, as the game owners were trying to be somewhat original. As of now my primary attention is torn, other games I play sparingly, if at all.
There are two basic templates that I know of, one like torn, and the other has unlimited levels, and max energy and max nerve increase with level. Stat gains are dependent on happy only, and speed and dexterity are combined into one stat.
Torn has considerably developed and improved over time, but nothing else that uses torn's basic template has come even close. I would even claim that torn is perhaps the best text RPG game of it's genre.
