Does anyone believe we are sent to this world by God for a reason.. to prove ourselves as human beings.. in a battle against the seen and unseen evils. A sort of test and Judgement day will be our results day. If you fail, eternity in fire and a beautiful home in heaven if you pass with everything you desire.
What purpose would this serve? Such a thought would make this world almost irrelevant, People would want to focus on the afterlife and ignore the real world.

Personally, I think that what we believe happens next greatly affects what we do now. i.e.The choices we make and how we live. Believing in life after death can cause one to make better choices in this life.
