That little passage when you click on the Notebook in the donator house, written in latin by Cicero. In itself this makes little sense, but a little research reveals that it is composed from fragments of a passage in Cicero's De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum (45BC)
"Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit." This means There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it, and wants to have it, simply because it is pain.
This is a standard text used as a space filler for, as you mentioned, hundreds of years. Anyone curious about it's origins has probably already looked it up without the assistance of your thread.
Yeah, I've known about this for years. I remember using it in a design class and the teacher had no idea what it was. Made me question how good of a teacher she was...

I downrated 1 of your posts based on my opinion to that single specific post... As a result, you downrated a handful of my completely unrelated posts across multiple forum boards as some sort of revenge stunt.
Just because someone dislikes a single post doesn't make them a hater, it just means they have - you know - an opinion. But someone who wants to try to claim some sort of revenge elsewhere on the forums is... I think salty is the right word.
It is gibberish in that it is based on and intended to look like Latin but not be a real language, BUT I believe it also has roughly the same letter distribution as normal English text i.e. the letters appear about the same number of times.
Honestly if you guys speak more than 1 language and you read these, some of these words will start to make sense . I speak Russian besides speaking English, and this word "laoreet " is very similar to one Russian word meaning nominee. Also the word dolore which in spanish dolor means pain. It just appeared to mean something to me, but i can definitely see how you guys can just use it as a fill in text.
I studied Latin, amongst other languages. The words individually are real, but as sentences they are made up. So you are right. And it's still gibberish lol.
The words mean nothing as a whole, they were never suppose to. It was a standard phrase used for every font just like "The big brown fox jumps over the fat lazy hen" was, the words mean nothing, all they show is the use of every letter of the alphabet
