Anyone on here use psionics / energy work outside the light worker's idea of "energy work"?
Could you go into a bit more detail? Start us off here.
I think I have some good experiences worth sharing, but I wanna make sure we're talking about the same thing here.
Grounding, shielding, chakra work ... basics. Beyond that there is the removal of certain energy types from a person/place that should not be there. There is ranged viewing of another's energy system (there is no distance). Energy work goes beyond healing or even a person - if one can heal, they can also harm. One can change the mood of another, or clear an area that doesn't feel right. To sense when something is wrong and actually reach out with energy and change it or fix it. Some people use energy work to feed off others (psi-vamp). Some use energy work to shield off the effects of the psi-vamp.
For a few examples
I do this...I make people happy......so positive energy I suppose
That's what I was thinking but I wanted to make sure.
I've always been very sensitive to the energy of others. Not sure if vampiric or empathic, but I felt like I absorbed the energy around me, but unintentionally. And it was usually the negative stuff. People enjoyed being around me because I made them feel so good, without realizing they were passing their negativity onto me. I thought that by taking their "darkness" upon myself, I could show them how to embrace the "light", and help pass that positivity to others. I wanted to start a chain reaction to heal the world.
After many years of sucking out their poisons, only to receive nothing in return, no understanding or compassion for the pain I took upon myself, I said "f**k it" and put up my wall. It's pretty nice, I've gotten a lot colder but I can walk through a room without feeling like I'm drowning in the people around me. As you said about the energy flowing both ways, I've found that I can affect people in a much different way.
I used to want to save the world, to heal it. I had something of a messiah complex, and I remember feeling so much love for the world that I was okay with being their martyr. Eventually I realized that was stupid, naive bullshit. People don't want to be saved. Most people don't deserve to be saved.
Foolishness
A few years back, I started really getting into metaphysics/psionics/paranormal. I hadn't believed in anything in a long time, and it felt incredible to see magic in the world around me. Life finally felt mysterious and exciting, and I was obsessed. Over time, though, it faded. At this point, I'm not really sure if I still believe, and I don't usually feel any drive to invest energy in it. I wish I did, though. I wish I could get back there.
*nod* I totally sympathize with almost all of that. I'm 50, and I've been into the metaphysics since age 11. Most of my life was feeling other people's stuff and thinking it was my own. Only in the past 10 years have I learned actual grounding/shielding and all the other energy work. I was on a few IRC channels for a time with another and we were all about teaching other people like us and doing the healing thing. I'm more of a darker person though, I prefer to have reciprocation with what I do. Not one person did much in return and often became extremely clingy and co-dependent in a very bad way. And I too have come to learn that people not only refuse to be saved, but fight against it. And they fight against learning to do things to improve the quality of their life. They would rather go try to conquer others and then come running to be fixed when things go wrong. For the past 4 years I've thrown up some pretty thick shields to block everything out. I too sometimes miss the rush of it all and fun exploration. But ... it doesn't seem worth it in the long run.
