So my question is this: Is the chance of winning the jackpot completely unrelated to the bet size?

Odds are 50/50 u either win it or you dont

In this thread the jackpot odds were estimated to be somewhere between 300,000 to 1 and 350,000 to 1.
Given the current level of the jackpot, I would not be surprised if in the last few weeks the developers responsible have reduced the chance of a jackpot occurring. If so, then the odds will be even greater than the above.

Yeah. It's entirely possible they've changed it, given how long it's been since somebody won.
If there's no benefit to betting $10m then this is the worst game in torn's casino. The payout would be awfully low for the big betters, considering how much payout is jackpot.

It is possible that winner was offline and they noticed that jackpot has been won.
Didn't slot winners get similar kind of protection as lottery winners get?

Weird since the lottery winners do get it, and although it's harder to find the Slots jackpot winner, it's clearly possible.
