They are Faction Upgrades.
There are a total of 10 upgrades , I for One, II for the Second and so on till X for the last and the final upgrade, the Tenth one.
N denoted No upgrades.
Upgrades cost Respect, Once you upgrade, the required amount of Respect gets removed

Ones I pay attention to personally is steadfast for gym gains, hermetic for being able take more xanax without rehab, cumber for travel trade and adept for education reduction all that order of priority.
Different players prefer different stuff.
After you played about in the faction and get yourself to level 15 i would recommend ditching that faction become a daily xanax trainer and get into a faction with higher rewards.
That faction isn't going to help you or anyone in it. You would be much better off if you and everyone else would leave it, get rid of the faction, focus on reaching level 15, and then join an existing faction which has actual upgrades and people who know the game who can help answer questions. Low level factions full of newbies get targeted and soon you'll be posting about "why are we always in the hospital, how can we keep all these other factions from attacking us?".
