I'm suprised no one has picked up on this.
The status key in user.basic api call

is not showing your Status -: "status":["Okay","Traveling back to Torn"] or something alike
its is showing the user.profile role key -: "role":"Civilian"
this is either wrongly named as status and should be "role" or correctly named status with the wrong keys
I would prefer the later, status is nicer option and more useful or both would be even better
Note:
The user.basic is the first call for all API app's, to test if users API Key is correct and collecting the owners Name and ID for correspondence in web based Apps
The "role":"Civilian" and other types like Moderator Secretary and many other states can be used in the App and give Admin Rights within the App.
