If you initiate an attack against someone, but another person finishes it, do you still get xp? Or does the other person get xp? Or is it split?

If you initiate an attack against someone, but another person finishes it, do you still get xp? Or does the other person get xp? Or is it split?
The other person gets all the xp I think, since they're the ones who choose how to end the battle.
