Hello everyone! I've been playing Torn for a while, but recently came back after a year long break due to personal issues. Upon coming back I was broke and forgot how to do a lot of things. Then I noticed in all of it, that a lot of the user guides that Hank created were junked over a hissy fit, which I found useless as all he's done is hurt new players, but I'm hoping to help solve the gap there.
I've created this user guide based on his old one, and I plan to expand it as time goes. This should help not only my spouse who is a newer player, but also anyone who is new or may simply need a reminder. Do not expect this guide to be nearly as good as Hank's guide as he obviously put a lot of work into the research and has a lot more experience and connections.
If you notice any imperfections or think something needs to be added, please feel free to let me know through PM or in the comments. And feel free to give a like if you wish!
Energy
Energy is one of the core features of Torn. Without it, you can't train or attack. Energy is capped at 100 and will regain 5 energy ever 15 minutes. If you are a subscriber (which I recommend) or use a donor pack that limit will be bumped to 150 and will regenerate 5 energy every 10 minutes. Once your energy hits or goes over 150 (or 100 if you're not a donor), then it will not automatically regenerate. Overall the absolute maximum amount of energy one person can have at any given time is 1,000. This is done by using drugs, cans, or job specials. The only way to loose energy is to use it, or if you overdose it will drop to 0.
Happy
Happy is the next most important thing to gym training. It determines how much stats you gain per train. Happy is determined by the type of property you live in, and the amount of staff you have. Unlike energy, when you go over the maximum happiness, it will go away after a few minutes. The times in which happy resets back at max after going over is: :00, :15, :30, :45. These numbers are very important to make sure you don't waste a bunch of boosters and don't have enough time to train. So if you want to boost, wait until :01, :16, :31, or :46, and make sure you finish all your training before the times listed before. Try to buy the best you can possibly afford to rent, with a spouse who can help out. Below is a list of properties and the happiness they can bring, this picture was taken from the Torn Wiki.

Drugs
Drugs are something I recommend for new players and veterans alike. There is a sports science gym which is open if you use below 50 xanax and 50 ecstasy. This option is there, but for this guide I'm going to stick with the drug side of things and maybe later down the road I can include the sports science gym.
Drugs do come with a price, rehab bills. These start out on the cheap end (250k-1m), but can get very expensive as you use more. However, as you use more time progresses and hopefully you've found a good method to make decent income. Everything in Torn balances out, but don't try and push yourself using a training method 3x over your daily budget.
