Hi Guys, im working on an app with some people and were having a bit of a debate on 2 logos so i thought i would come to the graphic community to ask your oppinion, the app is called linkcoach and we are an app that helps coaches of all activities be more productive with there students. basically i just want to see which one you like more maybe even leave a bit of comments and critism if you like
also it is not just for sports it is any activity ie. playing the piano
neither work to be honest. the left one is generic enough to work for anything. the one with the man is just poor design although it conveys the app a little better
i have some good ideas if you want to shoot me a pm
I would like to know, just for learning purposes why you called the second logo a poor design, I ask this because at first glance it looked really good to me, I mean I've seen 10x worse designs. Can you please be more clear about why it is a poor design?
well for the first, you could confuse the link part to be a man grabbing another mans penis... or the coach molesting his student...
in the second there is just a lot to it. there are a lot of elements and shapes that add a lot of unnecessary clutter and just make the logo overall very confusing. the shapes are also very unartistic and the figure is poor. the spacing between the dismembered limbs isnt uniform and the elements are not balanced. the swooshes are distracting and do a bad job of conveying motion. it just doesnt make sense to me. i dont get coach or link from the image. it is just totally unrelated to the app name and looks amateurish. besides that it is not unique at all. you shouldnt copy other designs, even something so basic
Of the two, there is a greater sense of relatability with it. It is universal, much like you describe what you want your app to be. It is also simple. I reckon that if people are downloading the app, they will already know what it is called and not have to figure out the name based off the logo. That being said, the first one works and it looks clean. A user will download the app by its name and then it is an easy learning curve to understand why the logo looks the way it does.
Of course this really isn't much to stress about. I mean if Nike can market a check mark and a slogan to "just do it" in a market for shoes then I am sure you can market whatever your dreams aspire.
