To keep it simple and sweet... Torn has 44 books, but absolutely no magazines!

A magazine could have similar effects to books but be far shorter--perhaps a week instead of the month that books have. They could be mission rewards, quest tokens, city finds... heck, if the programmers feel like crafting a "Literature" course in General Education and creating a bookshop, they could even one day be a bought item.

I'm about certain I'ld even buy some subscription to these magazines...

The fact that Ched chose to make books this one time use expiring items is ridiculous as it is, but I'm more willing to suspend my disbelief if it is a magazine.



Not saying the OP effects shouldn't be limited, but the fact he chose books of all things, books that don't just vanish, you don't just forget what you read.
