At which point do you change car Class? I've just started and am a very low 2.01 racing class D. I hoped 2.0 would have got me Class C but it didn't. Is there a set number you move up Class? Or is it different for everyone?

sorry, just read the FAQ, didn't see it before.............it's point based, nothing to do with driver skill

  • Class D needs 25 upgrade points
  • Class C needs 100 upgrade points
  • Class B needs 250 upgrade points
  • Class A needs 475 upgrade points

So, in theory, I could use as many points as I want in each class to do upgrades. It would just take longer to get to the right amount of points to get to the next class.

But watch out, if you spend all your points and then upgrade to new Class, your car won't be good enough to win anything, so you won't win any points. Therefore can't upgrade.

ive learnt that you want to spend all points when you move to new Class on your new car, then don't spend any during the class. Let them build, then when you move up to the next class, you have lots of points, spend them all and repeat.

Im at class C, spent 60 odd points at very start of this class, got about 100 ready to spend on new car. I'm on about 220 points in total, not long now. However, I've just got to level 15, and can travel. Didn't think, you cant race and fly haha. Less racing for me.

So you can only earn x points per class? Doesn't matter if you spend them or not as far as moving into next class goes. Once you have x points you get moved into next class?

Yea when you hit the points, e.g. 250, you get moved up automatically to class B, you can still use your old Class C car, but clearly you are going to struggle to win points that way. Best to have lots of points in bank for new car

I managed to get to class A at around 4.20 Drivers Skill and I had around 140 upgrade points available. It was enough for upgrades that make me come 1st still in around 30-40% of the races I do. Pretty glad it worked out this way.

Edit: Frankly, normally I hate 'coming 1st'. I am aware of this suggestive sentence but plan to do nothing about it.
