Citizens,
The 'run away' feature has been changed and is now known as 'escaping'.
Attempting to escape and failing no longer instantly results in 'being shot in the back'. Instead you remain in the attack. The attempted escape appears as a 'turn' which can be responded to by the attacker. Instead of 'failing to escape' being a final attacking result, it becomes a turn. The attacker can then attempt to escape again later, or keep fighting.
The 'Escape' button is disabled if the defender causes damage on the turn. If the defender misses or doesn't cause damage, the escape button is enabled. Once 'Escape' button is clicked, the chance of a successful escape is determined by whether or not the opponent causes damage on that turn. So by clicking 'Escape' it completes one more attacking turn: if the defender hits the attacker then the escape is prevented, if the defender misses or fails to cause damage then the attacker successfully escapes.
This means the defender can lock an attacker into the attack as long as they consistently cause damage. If they miss, or reload, or fail to cause damage in any way, the escape button is enabled for the attacker allowing them to 'attempt to escape'. Once escape is initiated, they need to avoid the defenders damage again on that turn to successfully complete the escape. If the defender then does damage, the escape fails, and of course the button is disabled again until the defender fails to cause damage on another turn.
- Changed all references of "run away" instead to "escape"
- Defender non-damage turns enable the 'Escape' button
- Escape attempt is successful if the defender does not cause damage
- Failing an escape attempt is not an 'instant lose', attacker remains in the attack
- Timeouts now result in a loss rather than a 'run away' attempt
- 'Getaway car' special (Car Dealership) makes the escape button always available
- 'Escape' faction tree upgrades increase dexterity on escape attempt turns
- 'Running away from trouble' book guarantees 100% success on escape attempts
Thanks.
