With all the different property to choose from it seems wasteful to only have the PI as the best in every way. Since it is only $500 mill it seems like a clear choice and leaves all the other properties more or less forgotten and useless. Even if you don't have $500 mill it is still easy to get into one just by renting and furthermore, if the 4225 PI's are still to up there you can get one with the essential airstrip for cheep and be flying for free in no time. This suggestion is not to undermine the value of the PI or replace it with any other property, it is simply a way to give the other ones some value for you to choose from.

Please leave a comment if you like the idea to keep it at the top of the post :D ty

I believe each property needs a unique bonus INCLUDING the PI, not just more happy. I have thought about the bonuses for only a few hrs and this is what i have come up with. If anyone has any suggestions that seem to make more sense please leave a comment.

Trailer- Small mobile home, easily relocated, capable of off-grid lifestyle. Harder for authorities to track, +5% success rate for all crimes.

Apartment- Having to climb stairs all day just to get home keeps you more healthy, +1% dexterity and speed gains in the gym.

Semi-Detached House- Having to deal with noisy neighbors can passively train you to stay calm, +1 (5 max) max nerve for each improvement.

Detached House- Much like a normal house you have a yard and other things to take care of, builds work ethic, +10% work stat gains.

Beach House- Still a house just better, but you also have a 36.5904(10^19) gallon pool called the ocean to swim in, +1% defense and strength gains in the gym.

Chalet- Has a pool but also has a view, swimming with the feeling of serenity helping you to focus your mind in a relaxing environment.  -5 energy required for revives (does not stack with faction, -25 max energy reduction) for each improvement.

Villa- Getting services by now and with your own natural food supply you can eat more healthy. -25% cool down on booster items

Penthouse- Your in the sky, you got guards, and a gym, +1% gym gains and +5% passive defense bonus

Mansion- Your yard is now large enough to practice firearms training for small - med size full auto primary's and all secondary weapons, +10% damage inflicted with these types of firearms.

Ranch-  Even bigger yard, with neighbors out of site and out of harms way we get to play with big toys. Heavy machine guns, anti-tank, explosives, and temporary weapon training give you a respective bonus in these categories. +5% accuracy and 5% damage for these weapon types.

Palace- A palace is a place of elegance and we don't need the smell of sulfur floating through the house, so lets make use of the space inside and conduct hand to hand and melee style weapon training. +10% damage and + 3% accuracy for these weapon types.

Castle- Tall thick walls offer superior defense compared to any other home offering a unique way to improve your own defense tactics, +2% defense gym gains, +10% passive defense bonus and +2% damage

Private Island- I think this one just needs buffed a bit, but with the high level of happy you can have vs any other property i think it balances out, maybe +3% gym gains all around (instead of 2%) keep the +10 travel cap the same, and +2-3% damage.

I'm not at all great at coming up with variety so most of my buffs are to do with gym gains, nerve mods, stat enhancements, and job stat enhancements if that can even be done with current programming. So i ask for suggestions so i can make some of these truly unique, if you have a suggestion please include a small description like i did with all mine as to why you came to that conclusion.

Edit: Every 5-15 min (or at 00:00 TCT time) the bonus would kick in for the current property your in, as to avoid bonus abuse. Thank you Arrow [2024586] for bringing that tiny but very important detail to my attention.

Edit: Special properties like the sea fort would have an option of 3-6 perks they can choose from on a list on acquisition and could switch them out like faction perks with an "unset perks" timer. I'm thinking the timer would last anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Ty to Jefayette [2044515] for that idea i think it really fits well with a progression system.

Edit: Tomas [676400] suggested we add a property worth 5-10B. I personally think it's a good idea but it would add another layer of complexity to this idea I was not going for. If anyone else thinks another property is needed then post one you think would fit the bill. something between a PI and a special property. I will be looking into this myself as well.

  •  I had an idea that may be a bit different then buying a property. Maybe the peak of the latter can be renting a celebrity home instead of being bought, this could be a perpetual way to remove money from the game. Rent could be like 50-100M a day. You would also have to rent it from the estate agent. They would have some crazy perks or combination of perks like +10%-20% gym gains, +20 travel item carry, or business class flying and no need to purchase the airstrip or hire a pilot cause you are renting it and they can never be changed. You can't hire more staff you can't improve anything and I think 7500-maybe 10k happy. in just 5-10 days you would have spent more on rent than a pair of boxing gloves. This is probably really unbalanced so don't take my figures as something I calculated, I just tossed numbers in there to get the point across.

But probably to stop this getting abused, it should be so that the specials kick in at the 15 mins mark. That way people can't just hop thru different properties to take advantage of various perks.

They'll be too worried about their happy resetting from a PI's happy to a trailer's for instance.

Lots of cool ideas, different perks are nice, even if I wouldn't use them so much, because I want to train my stats and if PI offers extra gains in gym I would choose that. But... but I would like to choose from different properties. Like companies, sometimes I work in one company, sometimes in another depends what I do.

Good idea, but i think it needs some work, some of the things u said are kind of 'way too much', and on one side, i can see people changing from PI to Villa/Mansion/Palace just before they attack for the +% damage, so it can used badly, maybe give it a cooldown before that stuff are working ? like let's say a day ?..

Good ideas mate, it'll bring people to using properties, not just PIs
Mat-Senpai [952164]

I don't really see the point in this if I'm honest. What it'll ultimately come down to is what property is best for gaining stats, the rest of the properties would be swapped between abusing their buff before going back to the best training PI.

If this was to come in you'd need to restrict movement between houses as to limit buffs, if not then why not have items which give these specials?

I also don't agree with the idea that all content needs to not be dead content, it makes sense that someone which costs so much more would result in better specials. It's what a progression system is and the only thing that makes sense is adding a property after the PI.
arrow [2024586]

A progression system assumes that people actually progress through various properties instead of just jumping to renting a PI straight away.
Mat-Senpai [952164]

More a reflection on how easy money can be made at the lower end and how easy PIs are at the top end, a suggestion dealing with that would benefit more.

Perhaps we need to look at adjusting costs and prices to accomodate the value of the torn dollar?

One issue with Torn is that city estate agent prices havent adjusted with inflation. So the base price will always be similar whether bought from the city or from the market.

Could mayve buff all properties and adjust the prices accordingly.

Or the bonuses that OP suggests could be implemented via further upgrades to some properties at an added cost.

AS a further addition, maybe have happy just drop a bit when it hits the 15 mark instead of instant loss of everything above the max mark, to encourage experimentation by those already in a PI.
Sironyx [2012540]

I agree more with the idea that progression needs to change rather than the properties. something that might fix this is maybe making it so that rented properties aren't as effective at what they do as owned properties. I can easily see property specific buffs being abused as mentioned earlier in the thread, and I don't see much of a use to adding these since it is MEANT to be a progression system, rather than what this is suggesting.

Personally, I never rented out a PI and just stuck it out until I could outright buy one, but I'm definitely seeing that PIs are pretty common among lower classes
Steel_Rain [2034675]

Thankyou for all your feedback thus far everyone, I have made an edit do to the concern of Arrow [2024586] and many others though Arrow [2024586] was the first to take notice and give a good fix idea to the abuse issue. I will continue to come back and read what you have suggested and try to make adjustments.

The aim of this thread is not to jack up the price of all the properties as i believe this would only be a temporary fix, but instead give the other properties some use. No matter how useless they seem to a stat monster there are other styles of play left unaccounted for that need more boosts.

The healers for instance seem to be more of a solo type of style if they are dedicated to it, and currently the only way to be the best at it is to be in a faction, witch may require you to spend you E on wars instead witch may not be something you are interested in resulting in you getting kicked out thus reducing your ability to be a good healer (revives at 25E vs, 75E).

Maybe one of the properties could accommodate healers and the boosts they are interested in, or maybe one for racers that can boost how fast they gain driver skill, or one that increases company income by a percentage (never owned a company so this one is a shot in the dark). Maybe even one that increases E gain from 5 to 6-7 every 10-15 min.

Again i'm just one man so more idea's and help balancing the buffs would be appreciated, if there is one to high or to low say why it is what it is and give a suggestion to improve it :)

This doesn't seem very balanced to me tbh and doesn't seem hugely necessary. But what about my house?
