I got this event;
Your account is at risk of being taken over until your Security Settings are updated. Please enable two-factor authentication with a mobile phone number to drastically improve account security.and went to preferences and see this;
The IP address you're currently on has not frequently been used by this account in the past. To access your security panel please login to your account on one of your regular devices or networks.
What should i do? i always connected to this pc and never log on to another devices if i right
just makes your account more secure, you dont have to do it, but it is a good idea to do it, and helps in the auto recovery process of your account if you ever were to lose it, making the process much faster for yourself.
That's a weird message. I've not come across that before.
Does it keep you from activating two-factor authentication for your account? If it does, I would recommend a bug report.
Its an auto reminder for those who have not set it up yet, and no it wont stop you from doing it, its asking you to do it.
REALLY????? " The IP address you're currently on has not frequently been used by this account in the past. To access your security panel please login to your account on one of your regular devices or networks."
if you got the same message. i would clear your cache and cookies, as its not ip anymore, it was switched to device not so long ago, only thing i ever get with the new security panel even with this change, was the occasional txt from torn with a code to log on and only really get them when i travel around with my mobile and log into torn here n there, if you guys are experiencing issues and have everything set up, then please post in bugs and issues
but it would suggest that both of you dont have it set up, Please enable two-factor authentication with a mobile phone number to drastically improve account security.
I don't think you understand what the IP-related message means. It means that you have not often used that IP to access your account, which would make it a risk to set up 2FA from it; after all, if a hacker stole an unprotected account they could try to 2FA-protect it themselves. This then would be a new IP accessing the account and protecting it.
It's protection against hackers. To OP: Set it up from your home / more often used network sometime.
solved, i can change my security settings now thankyou. but i didn't receive any SMS for verification
Does anyone configure the mobile phone number? I have tried some 4/5 times but unfortunately no SMS with a verification code received.
Same here, i tried multiple times but didnt get any SMS either
