What does stacking all your shares do? (Other than compile it all into a single block.) Are there any advantages/disadvantages to it?

What does stacking all your shares do? (Other than compile it all into a single block.) Are there any advantages/disadvantages to it?
Your shares need to be stacked together in order for you to get the Benefit Block (BB) bonus. Aside from that, there is the disadvantage that if you stack your stocks after buying them, it loses their individual buy prices and hold times in your portfolio.
