Well it depends upon what you are in, the world. Are we going by known real world scenarios and science. Or are you going beyond the known? Also it also depends on what is meant by a past and no past. I am assuming we are not allowed to ask questions to this acquaintance more than what was said. I would not trust this so called acquaintance. Actually I personally would not trust the whole scenario all together especially if there was drinking involved for I do not drink.
Though back to the scenario are you meaning with a past as in doing things of note, good or bad, and without a past, not doing much that is noticed? Or without a past do you mean that they are like some sort of clone or rapid growth form so they just came to life and thus having no past. Or that they are a time traveler from the future, and they have no past because all of their past is still in the future, or perhaps they have no past because their actions at the present are wiping out their existence in the first place, and you are just an observer upon the ebb of their paradox.
Though also what is meant by trust? There are more forms than one form of trust. Do you mean believability, or reliability, or dependability? Sometimes they can go in sync with each other and be the same thing but sometimes not.
One is believing in what is say, the other one is relying on their abilities which can be totally different.

Neither. I don't trust any strangers. Including the guy talking to me slipping roofies in my drink.
Edit : trust less was the question and I say the one with no past. Your experience is what makes the person you are today. If you have nothing to learn from how can you move forward to make a better future.
