Firstly, apologies if this has been done before - it probably has but I've never seen it.
What would you most like to see become a reality in Torn?
Before you post, consider a couple of things. Don't post something ridiculous which has no chance at all and remember that this is a text based game so think of something in keeping with that.
Mine is a new feature for yachts as well as the extra happiness. Something like fishing trips where you can catch fish which mostly are worthless, but you have a very small chance of catching a rare fish which would be worth a lot more or a hosting a party on your yacht where you can invite a number of guests and everyone receives a temporary boost to their happiness. There would be a cooldown after a fishing trip or party to prevent them constantly being repeated. Say, once a week.
Now it's your turn...
I travel a lot and i would like to see some sort of smuggling option. If you get caught you could actually lose items you bought abroad. Never gave the details much thought, but it seems to me that it could fit into the crime theme of the game.
Space travel, Mars colonization, Beneath the surface Pluto penal colony, and Crimes 2.0
The committee to be disbanded
I want George to be a bigger character in the game, outside of just being in the new player missions.
as someone who's traveled a bit, i've always loved the idea of more to do in other locations. maybe unique crimes, unique missions, maybe some locations have unique gyms. i mean, locations already have jails, might as well fill them, right? especially if you really fleshed it out to make each location almost like its own Torn. so when you arrive at your location, instead of going to a market, you find yourself in a city page, with different stores and places to visit, similar to Torn's city page.
obviously you wouldn't want them so complex that people never come back to Torn because that would really split up the game. but having more to do than buy items, blow through excess energy, and flying back would be super cool.
Unique properties and collectibles to be taken away from accounts after a certain period of inactivity as a rule and auctioned automatically for the public to grab.
This is also an insanely good cash sink for the rich, which will ultimately also benefit the economy.
.... CE bar.... would make things a lot easier if we knew how high our CE is... Or if that's a definite no-no, how about something like the fortune teller in China, someplace you could fly to, to check your CE.... or.... a new job perk?... I'm on a roll here..... :p
New locations with mini games / missions related to the locations.
A cure for all the shit-threads being made.
But that would take the mystery away from it! :P
Or a faction upgrade that provides a crime xp table?
A totally new and dynamic bad-ass NPC. Someone that gladly kicks Duke in his crusty nuts and makes him like it.
Preferably with oversized melons and a bad attitude.
Country hopping when traveling.
Landed in Japan yesterday with no flowers (yes I checked travelrun first but cut it too close) Would have been well worth 15 extra minutes to hop to China before coming back to Torn. I have a WLT private jet so not like my pilot has anything better to do.
I want to find as many ways as possible to maintain/increase the active player base, such as an alternative to the Permanent federal jail punishment for less "serious" offences, one that gives people a chance to redeem themselves and discourages restarts as most lose interest.
Really hoping to see a crimes mission agent right after 2.0 is out. It would be nice to have multiple contracts starting to pile up.
Rework of the crime and OC system hopefully crimes 2.0 totally reworks OCs and crimes
Edit would also like to see a change on dirty bombs (how they are made) add missions in the building progress kind of like the duke missions but for the whole faction work it in with the new crimes2.0 system where there is a crime linked to the building of a DB
Expanding on Hildegarde's suggestion...
Players who go inactive for over 120 days can be robbed of items in inventory, display case, etc..Robbery success can be based on crime experience, with higher valued and rare collectable items less likely to be stolen. Would be a huge thrill for many, myself included, and has the added benefit of recycling these items back into the economy.
Could even help collect fees owed to Duke for past loans this way, with new missions being given to help introduce players to the concept.
I like hildegardes auction idea better i think the looting option on players would be a little overpowered
i want a free SE on every day ending with Y
