Letting him down? If anything posting examples would help him sell more ... especially if ppl like what he has to offer.

yeah mate , but i have seen him commenting on other thread tooo, and he had commented on my thread too once , anyaway i stopped doing it.

so letting people kno that taking someones artwork and adding text  to it is wrong?...letting people kno that they are being ripped off is wrong? ....well in that case i apologise

Samples of what to expect should always be part of a sales pitch.  Why buy from someone who is unwilling to show you what they can expect?  And by the way, pointing out rippers and asking people to put up samples is smart, not wrong.  

asking sample is right as you said, ripping and adding text is their freedom, making a gfx from blank is pretty hard though

No it really isn't.  It's one thing to use images from the net and then add your own embellishments to enhance the image. I don't think most people consider that ripping. Ripping is taking someone's work, erasing the text they added, then slapping  new text on it, and passing it off as your work. Rippers should be pointed out.

Nobody is mistaking Garvey's art as my own, obviously it's his, but my using his image combined with other trimming and renders changes it to a unique variation. Taking that variation is ripping.
