Are you saying you need to be attacked?
If the other way 'round, just visit a profile by clicking their name and click the attack button.
I'll show you how hahaha
As an officer of TMB I would recommend you to not attack people at all. Attacking will give you more enemies and right now you want to focus on getting stronger battle stats in the game by hitting the gym.

When it says "Someone attacked you" and doesn't say who, it means they were able to do a stealth attack. There are other factors, but mostly it means they had much higher stats than you. Unless you specifically turn off stealth attacks in your options, then you will also do stealth attacks when you attack other people, as long as your stats are a good bit higher and you have a bit of luck.
Shorter fights are more likely to stealth. Some weapons are more stealthy than others. Masks can help. Some temporary weapons can help. But the stat differences are the biggest single factor.
