As stated in the title, when is Ched going to actually address multis in the game?
Multihunter my arse.... if all multihunter compares against is the transaction of ingame money -then its not a multihunter..
Its a "collusion hunter"...

I have reported accounts before for this crap... and now im doing it again for yet another set..

NO GROUP OF PLAYERS in a single faction should meet ALL the following:
 - accounts made on or near the same day
 - gone long term inactive with low logins prior to going inactive
 - woken on or around the same day (logins start climbing around the same time)
 - all joining the same faction on or near the same day

It doesnt happen for two accounts... it doesnt happen respectively for multiple accounts.
IT IS MULTI PLAY...

Stop this BS about "this is not proof" and start addressing the fact that we are satisfied with the application of the odds to some of this.
The odds of all the above being satisfied and the players being unique are so extremely low that you do not need to consider it a possibility over the size of your player base.  Players that have only logged in 30 or 40 times DONT maintain a network of contacts with other players in the same situation for all that time... .
Hell.. 40 logins and the profile is 600 days old....  - DELETE IT... stop trying to preserve the sanctity of accounts that cheaters use...

So for once... address the multis.... I want fair play in this game... you as admins are the only ones that can enforce it.

IF you deem that a highly unlikely coincidence is a realistic possibility - then instead of banning the players, why not separate the accounts on suspicion basis. Have an "invisible" list of players that one cant interact with.
So two players under suspicion:
 - Cant be in the same faction
 - Cant send to each other
 - Implement a cooldown before the next suspected multi profile can hit the same target
 - Prevent trade
This would allow them to play the game... fairer to others at a small cost to the individual.

So for everyones knowledge... here is my recent report...
check the players out for yourself...
Perma-hosp if you like..
Do your own investigation of the players and see if you think this could every come to fruit as purely coincidence..

7 players all of same age.. all doing as above...
4 more younger players, starting at that same time as the older ones
many sequential IDS
Perhaps there may be a unique or two in the younger ones... but the whole older set should be undeniable.

All IDs listed.
Make your own judgement guys and push Ched to finally be useful on some issues like this.

Idiot is trying to get me to hit his accounts to try to distract people from the reality of this multi..
Ched - if you ignore this one - then you are as foolish regarding multi treatment as the multi is in his behavior in the first place...

Their whole faction is multi... Pull your finger out Ched...
If awakening a whole faction into activity on the same day, using old and new profiles, so many sequential IDs, etc isnt enough to ID a multi - then you are looking at the wrong things...
Screw looking at game money transactions only  - your results suck at that..
look at it and apply common sense..

Posting this in forums too to pressure you to actually address an issue rather than just glazing over another clear multi in the game.
I pay to play this game... i maintain a subscriber status... I deserve fairplay with regard to the rules.
They might be young and completely useless accounts which most can stomp all over, but ignoring multis like this IS NOT promoting fairplay for all.

The thing is, it's all about the parameters that are programmed on that multi-hunter script of Ched.

It catches alot, but some still get through.

Multies are also used for E and "selling" losses or revives for instance, without exchanging cash on profits to their main accounts.

Hard to program though imo, without harming innocent players as well.

Idk, cheaters will always try to find ways around the system imo, if you find anyone suspicious, always report them.
Scuba [512975]

You're not wrong but...

...why do you care? I can never suss out why select users take it upon themselves to try and police the game/user base. I'd forward that staff isn't incompetent - they just don't care. Otherwise explaining away entire factions that are so commonly joked about as being multi homes wouldn't be a thing.

If I had to guess, these users finance the servers you play on which is a negligible evil to not having a game at all. Put the police baton back in your pants because it's not yours to hold.
Abdullah [2063435]

I agree mate. They let them off the hook because of insufficient proof and it sucks but the suspicion+block thing takes us back to square one. Except it will be A LOT more effort to check suspicion criteria and would probably need to be done manually.

This is the same as the old IP bans when if the IPs were close you just wouldnt be able to interact and you'd miss out on a lot. Say if you used mobile internet and the other  guy did too in the same area, you wouldnt be allowed to interact with one another for quite a while.

For this, while 90% of the "suspects" will be legit, the 10% may suffer especially if the block is placed by a bot. If done manually, its wayyyy too much effort.

How's Ched going to address a multi?

Well unless he speaks Burmese I would imagine in English...
Tyrion [1967379]

That's just silly reasoning imo

Certain folks cheat, get caught while doing so and we simply have to ignore it from happening, because the authorities don't care while we all suffer the negative consequences...

It's sounds like real life and politics here mate :p
Hawk [2080065]

I'm with you, and that example faction was awesome. However, you need more than a "possible" reality to whack-a-mole. You just gotta. It could have been a family that started a faction or a hallway of guys at a dorm or whatever.

Personally, I don't get multi's. I mean, it's great for low levels, but you've still got to do that much more work to make all the player accounts add real value to your favorite account. If you do that much work, you might as well invest it all in your favorite account to start with.
Heigw [1962062]

Damn people.  Thinking they are doing something good by telling Ched how to do his job.  He's the one who made this thriving game, I think he can handle the multis.
Delta [2049998]

The biggest problem I see is that some of your criteria for multis is likely enough to be a real player, it's not that uncommon for two friends to start playing at the same time and want to join the same faction at the same time.
Tyrion [1967379]

This issue ingame, or generally irl? muah...

Don't test my intelligence mate, we're all affected ingame by cheaters and multies, influencing the economy and gameplay.

Why should I explain myself in detail to you anyways?
Scuba [512975]

...because I can't reasonably understand how a few multis not being nabbed by the system is greatly affecting the economy.

This isn't about challenging your intelligence, no need to feel insignificant simply because your position isn't as abundantly clear as you feel it is. Ideally, you explain yourself in detail so people know what you're trying to argue.

The largest impact I see of any multis is real players interacting with them and then having funds/profits canceled unbeknownst to them for dealing with a questionable party. This is more a lost opportunity than anything necessarily "harmful" as, to my understanding, profits are negated and funds are reset. I could, however, be entirely wrong about my understanding here.

Regardless, I still look at this very much in the sense of "not my job" in policing the community's multis and the frustration from the matter. It has so little to do with me that it's not worth getting bent out of shape.
Tyrion [1967379]

Exactly that reasoning, that's why I didn't feel obliged to response to any explanation, as it's obvious that it affects us all in one way or another...

I would be happy if the false sub-economy fueled by multies here on Torn or other games, was removed entirely.
Ferals [1888759]

Yo-Yo, I dont have a problem with the idea that two people join at the same time, and join the same faction.
That isnt the sole factor to this or we would be pointing at every new faction taking new players.
These guys have set up profiles at the same time, and had multiple profiles sit inactive for an extended period, and then resurrect them at the same time.  How many groups of seven friends do you have that would sign up at the same time as you, go inactive from the same point for the same duration and then coordinate their return?

As for those of you criticising my complaints, and tweedle-dumb up their posting a pic commenting on the fact of ched being busy with ddos, etc and im asking for attention to multis...
Consider this seriously.
Its not the normal player who follows the rules and respects the game that is out there attacking it. You and I who play our one profile properly do care about the game functioning because we arent taking shortcuts.
It is those that are breaking the rules in one way that are more likely to be breaking them in others.

Has it not occurred to you that your precious multis that you are trying to prolong could be the cause of the attacks that Torn experiences? They are more likely the cause than the genuine players, and they are actually more likely the cause than the concept of "random internet attackers".
Internet based attackers tend not to be random. They tend to be ends based. People hack wordpress sites so that they can execute their chosen scripts or direct traffic. Similarly what does a random care about continually shutting Torn down?
It is more likely that the attackers are players who are attempting to manipulate the system to their benefit.

Removal of players who have already displayed an ethical lacking is in reality probably the most effective way to reduce the number of attacks - by shutting down their accounts you effectively remove their benefit of executing an attack.

So no... addressing multis shouldnt be secondary to resolving the issues of attacks, it should be viewed as part of it.
So ill repeat... ched pull your finger out and start addressing the multis... be harsher.. block/ban based on coincidences..
