"Who's the Iron Chef making bacon? Winning all that cash and getting all the ladies!"
Welcome to the Makin' Bacon' game and this reference on how to play.
If you've spent some time poking around NPC chances are you have noticed players frying up delicious Bacon and earning even tastier prizes, sometimes even as sweet as tens of millions of $$$.
Aim of the game: The game is hosted by the Head Chef, he needs his assistant cooks to play along and help him cook some crispy Bacon for the masses. The host says an actor or movie and players must make a connection to Kevin Bacon.
Host: "Seth Rogen"
Player1: "Seth Rogen was in Step Brothers (2008) with John C. Reilly who was in The River Wild (1994) with Kevin Bacon"
Above is an example of correctly cooked Bacon showing correct names and years of movies.
Score: Scoring is refered to as Bacon Number, the Bacon Number is the degress of seperation from the actor or movie to Kevin Bacon. Seth Rogen in the above example has a Bacon number of 2.
Kevin Bacon himself has a Bacon Number of 0. Any actor in a movie with Kevin Bacon has a bacon number of 1.
Winning: Cook your bacon to hot and you're gonna burn it. The fastest answer is not the winning answer, rather the answer with the lowest Bacon Number is the winner.
The host will dictate a time limit for the game to be completed within. The host may also nominate 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes which if having the same Bacon Number may be decided by order of answering.
Help: This is the internet and people are gonna cheat so you may as well also cook your Bacon in the microwave right? There are websites that will help you cook the tastiest Bacon ever, simply Google "Oracle of Bacon"
Obstacles: Trying to cook bacon without a frypan is always harder, don't mess up! Sometimes the Host will include conditions that must be met. This is typical in Makin' Bacon' rounds with 1st place prizes of millions of $$$. Obstacles typically make it harder for people to use the oracle directly.
Host: "Emma Watson. Players must include both female and male actors (not including Emma or Kevin)"
Player1: "Emma Watson was in Noah (2014) with Jim Ford who was in Across the Universe (2007) with Salma Hayek who was in Grown Ups (2010) with Kallie Tabor who was in Patriots Day (2016) with Kevin Bacon"
The above answer has a Bacon Number of 4. It is not Emma Watson's lowest Bacon Number but this answer meets the hosts obstacle of having both male and female actors.
Emma Watson usually has a Bacon Number of 2.
Emma Watson was in Noah (2014) with Jim Ford who was in Black Mass (2015) with Kevin Bacon.
Regulations:
1. Players must answer in set time limit to be valid.
2. Players must correctly spell actors names and include dates of movies to be formatted correctly. An answer that is not formatted correctly will not be considered valid until it is reposted correctly.
3. Players may not use identical answers. The first player to submit an answer will be considered the owner of that answer.
4. Players only get one answer, that is their first answer. If an answer has been given but it is technically invalid due to formatting or other reasons the player must attempt to fix that answer and cannot dramtically change their answer to include other actors or movies that would give them a lower Bacon Number then their first incorrect answer.
5. Players may steal other players answers ONLY IF it was submitted as an invalid answer (i.e formatting issues) and is submitted correctly before the original owner reposts. In regards to regulation 4. a player may change their invalid answer to a lower Bacon Number if there invlaid answer was stolen.
6. Do not argue with the Head Chef he has really sharp knives. The host can change or make any rules as they see fit.
