I have 2 kittens, 2 sheep, and 1 bear. The highest price is most likely to receive.
About $2g - which is not much. Each day you can buy 100 items from the city shops. The best thing to buy is beer from bits and bobs that you can buy for $10 per bottle and then sell for $600 per bottle. Alternatively 100 lollipops from the sweet shop.
Note there may be no stock when you go to the shops. Keep going back on 10 minute marks and checking again. They restock fairly often but it gets bought fairly quickly.
Look in the trading post forum for traders that buy low level stuff. You want to look at their profile pages and check they have more friends than enemies. Usually traders like large quantities but many will help you out and show you the ropes in the hope you will remain loyal and sell stuff to them for a long time.
