My IP address seems to be rate limited on torn. Torn keeps blocking me from their website. I only have one tab open and on torn. As soon as I switch to data on my phone torn works again.

I had this happen this morning, no clue why, was on my phone, on WiFi, no additional tabs, hadn't logged in that morning yet at all... Waited a couple minutes and all was fine so thought nothing of it, but …
My IP address seems to be rate limited on torn. Torn keeps blocking me from their website. I only have one tab open and on torn. As soon as I switch to data on my phone torn works again.
I have had this problem today as well.
When I woke up, I did gym and other stuff - you know the routine and checked the elimination page and left tab open there. Gone for about 10 minutes to prepare a meal.
When I was back I've got message I was banned from accessing torn.
Perhaps elimination page is doing a lot of requests and that is why I've got this message and was unable to access torn for quite a while.
Other than that, I have no idea what could cause that.

If you are on chrome, try using shift + F5. You can also refresh your IP and whatnot, if you are unsure what tools to use I recommend turning off your modem for 15 minutes - this will cause your network provider to refresh all your addresses in an automated attempt to fix your network problems (and in this case your torn IP "ban").
This means you're making too many requests to Torn - like way more than expected. Please disable any scripts you're using that may be making extra requests to Torn.
what is the rate limit, and how long we need to wait for unblock ?
Using Citywatch and Tornstats script, can't access torn from my wifi. I have my phone on same wifi but I don't use the app when home. I often play Torn with multiple tabs open but that I have always done

I expect it could potentially be the "Tornstats" script.
The "Tornstats" script doesn't make any requests to www.torn.com. Also making such requests would violate the rules regarding "Scripting Abuse" that you yourself put in place. Hence the issue isn't related to the userscript.
This is the only error I have to show, but I am now allowed to enter Torn from my home again. They way I understood Tornstats script works is that it pulls data from Tornstats [image: media.discordapp.net]

You are being rate limited. We have detected an unusually high number of requests per minute directed towards the logged-out areas of TORN originating from your IP address. Please check any software or scripts you (or others on your IP address) are using.
Please fix this, been having problems all day.
It could be hitting the API from your IP, I'll ask.
Tornstats does not make requests to the API from your own IP.
So I really don't have any clue what you're doing unfortunately. You're definitely doing something strange, when you see it again, please try to recall your exact actions during the 60 seconds leading up to it. It could also be Citywatch, but that only makes I think 2 requests every 10 seconds. Somehow you're hitting 120 requests in logged-out areas in a minute.
Are you using any other extensions?
I found it strange since I had access before I went to work but when I got home my rate was limited. My actions during 60 seconds before would be to activate my PC from standby then open chrome to find I was blocked, if my memory is correct.
I sometimes use DoctorN or Torn Extension, with 1 API call per 30 sec
I have same thing. Using just doctorN and City watch and question how long ip block will last? Because it f...ing anoyong use torn just on mobile
I created the script and I can assure you that it doesn't hit the API directly.
Got a new warning that my rate is limited, the only thing that is active is Citywatch. I just had time to log in and click on a few pages.
Still struggling with this. Took me over 6hrs to sign in to take a xanax :( this needs to be fixed?
I am also getting this, rate limited, to many requests to logged out areas.
I have played the same for 10 years, only citywatch running, don't use any scripts at all, using opera as usual having to use 4g on o2 to use torn, cannot use Wi-Fi, will try switching off modem for a while.
From the other thread it seems city watch may be the issue try disabling city watch see if you still get it
