Well, we have a Christian church.  Why should we not have a Buddhist temple, an Islamic mosque, a pagan shrine, et cetera!!  Get on it, Ched!!!

Yes, I read it.  You believe that?  It's called a church and a priest officiates the wedding ceremony.  Also, not all Buddhists pray, so the whole prayer thing is silly. Why isn't there a button for 'meditate'?

Early 20th Century: Torn was kicked out of the United States around this time for being the country's biggest jerk state - even more so than Texas.
  • When Torn's citizens were finally allowed out after its secession they were only initially able to visit El Cascado (Mexico), and even then it was under armed supervision.
  • Torn's unique justice system was founded shortly after its breakway from the United States, when twelve children were tragically killed in the cross-fire of a gang attack. Ever since this horrific event youngsters have become a rarity in Torn, with most sightings attributed to drunk people staring at midgets
and during that time, Christianity was the dominant religion in the US (at the time of the expanded borders of the US with the natives kicked out to farther regions...) and while Christianity was the dominant religion, there were churches in different parts of the US and that's how Torn had it's church. There weren't people who practiced Muslim or Buddhism as much, least until the time of the Gold Rush.

Mexico Cession happened in 1848 and while Torn was part of the United States, religious majority were Christians hence the church establishments were of higher majority. Most of the other folks came between 1848 - 1855 as the second huge wave of immigration from the Gold Rush in California and parts of Nevada, so that's the reason why there is a Torn Church and not a Torn Mosque or a Torn Temple or a Torn Frog pond. Tho... idk tbh if the church structure changed or something like that...ye can ask Ched about changing the structure of that church if ye want... tho really the Priest is just trying to live in there and survive and avoid the crimes of the city by taking donations and tithes for himself and chowing down on goodies and delicacies of all sort that he likes...yarrr

EDIT: More immigrants came later on after 1900s and far far more in 2004 in the vicinity of Torn.

You do not HAVE to pray. And meditating is not a religious activity, it is an activity which you undertake to turn the attention inward. To observe your own experiences and to reach enlightenement. Meditation aims at recognizing that physical sensations do not necessarily have to result in any particular response. Suffering and happiness do not follow from events, but from our interpretation of the event.

One does not need a temple or church to meditate.
Besides: buddhism isn't a religion. Buddha himself is reported to have said not to just take his word for it, but to experience whether his lessons work for you as well. It's a philosoph, not a religion.

You're just trolling on semantics. But "Mosque" is just the islam word for Church. Temple, the same (early christian churches were temples, and Jesus is quoted in stating that "your body is your temple". Wedding ceremony, is just a word as well, every main religion has it, just calling it different.

Please bitch, put some friggin effort in your trolling. Sure, religion is always a great topic to cause some consternation, but really.... we don't give a rats ass.

I don't really understand your anger, esp. if you are Buddhist.  Also, some Buddhists do consider Buddhism (which is just a Western word for dharma), a religion.  Some have even prayed to Buddha, so don't lump it all together. :)

Yeah, i don't see any Rabi, Or Mosques. Wouldn't a "multi faith church" be known as a "religious center" or summin?

Now i don't care either way. But it is tilted towards Christianity by definition

Plus it's probably a joke at corruption within the Christian Church by pushing it to the extreme by having the leader of Torn's church be obviously greedy to a degree, but also caring next to nothing for what citizens he allows to actually pray even if they just bombed a bunch of stuff or killed a lot of people.
