The new backdrops make page rendering extremely laggy. The whole viewport is re-painted when scrolling around.

Consider using `will-change: transform` or some similar technique, please, otherwise this feature is unusable on slower computers.

It's an i5 3570 on a P8H51-M LX3 R2.0 with 16GB of RAM @ 1333MHz pushing a GTX750 Ti.

Either way, just open the devtools and see for yourself a huge drop in performance, no matter what powerful beast you have.
