Some say its a cupcake and some say its just a type of muffin.

Both sides have valid points but this thread is here to show whata sponge muffin really is.

I have no idea what the difference would be, but I like saying the word muffin over cupcake. Muffin, muffin, muffin. It has a nice ring to it.

Also, it looks more like a muffin to me.
