Currently my stat ratios are all even at 25% each. Are there battle training ratios that are proven to work? Should my strength and defense account for 70% percent of my total stat and speed + dex 30%? Or 30% strength 30% defense 30% speed 10% dex? What works for you?

There are advantages and disadvantages to some other ratios. A very popular one in Torn is to be somewhat higher in Speed and Strength. This is a good build for an aggressor. If attacking / mugging / chaining is a major part of your game and you don't mind being weaker on defending, you could try this.
Otoh, if your game is more defensive -- trading, resistant to bounties or other attacks, escaping fights easily and causing stalemates -- then you might want to consider higher dexterity (elusiveness) or defense (impervious to damage).
That is a simplistic view. The elements can also be combined. For example, you could go with 35% dexterity, 27.5% speed and strength, and 10% defense. This would make it more difficult for an opponent to hit you (though more likely to cause damage if he does) while still giving you good attacking capabilities. It will also allow you to have use of two specialty gyms at the same time.
Thank you for the information
Currently my build is speed and strength 25% higher than defense and dexterity. Whatever total percentages that works out to you can figure out, I don't feel like doing math.
I'd say stay balanced until you reach Cha-Cha gym. Cause one of the prequisite to have special gyms unlocked is to have Cha-Cha unlocked.
That's when you can decide whether you want to put more e on str/spd or def/dex.
No. Don't listen to these guys. You Are. A noob. Stats don't really matter. Yet. MoSt important is you work as hard as you can bringing them up higher. All 4. So what you should do is train at the highest gym Dot you have. So whatever the highest gym dot is in. That is the stat you train.
You can balance out after you get up to the highest gyms. But making the most effective out of your traiNing by choosing the highest gym dot is the smartest idea.
Realistically the smartest idea is just whore a single stat untik you get into George's then balance out., Then you get the highest overall gains for your total e used, but most people can't plan that long term.
I don't think focusing only 1 stat is helpful in the short term. Duke's missions are far easier with balanced stats and you're harder to kill, which makes leveling easier. Just from personal experience fights are far easier now that my stats are closer to each other (I started off with a 50% difference between my 2 main and 2 secondary stats).
Useful for gaining stats faster though, since gym dots are a direct multiplier even a 0.2 difference makes a huge increase in gym gains.
Sure but a gym favoring a certain stat doesn't mean you have to train only that stat. For example the gym I just leveled out of did not train speed so I just used the gym before it when I needed to bring my speed up to standard.
Yea but you gain More stats for having more stats IN that stat. So if you combine more stats in that stat and then waiting until you have higher gym dots.for the lower stats, it will equal faster stat gains overall .
But yes I agree with you. Short term you are much weaker then if you trained balanced.
But long term you are stronger because you will have more overall stats.
You can do that but you will get more stats by training the stat with the highest gym dot.
I'll keep this strategy in mind for later lol. I get what you guys are saying, you're thinking about the long term growth of your stat totals.
But OP was asking about stat ratios. I think there is a certain point in stat totals where you have more freedom to focus on one stat but I don't think that time is in the beginning when you're just trying to survive, do missions, and not be a liability to your faction (and not be in the hospital all the time).
I disagree with this strategy. While I agree you will get the fastest gains, you also make yourself extremely vulnerable. While later in the game when you have a huge amount of stats this is less detrimental it will severely disadvantage you early in the game.
As RandomCC points out, duke missions will be more difficult with unbalanced stats. More importantly, when you are low level/stats you are subject to many random attacks. These are different to later in the game when people targetting you will research you properly before attacking and only attack if it is going to provide a definite benefit. These early game attacks will be other noobs trying their luck on random mugs or just wasting energy trying to prove something. In this scenario unbalanced stats will lose you a lot of fights and keep you in the pool of 'easybeats' longer than you need or want to be. By the time you get to the point where you are going to rebalance your stats (georges) you will be known as a soft target by many. Now it is going to take you a huge amount of time to get those stats rebalanced if you ever actually achieve it.
Tbh having unbalanced stats, as in strength speed whore, isn't actually that painful to live with for most play styles
(Just sharing my experience, I'm not trying to recommend anything)
I have more than 99.7% of stats in strength and speed, and I do all Duke missions in 1 to 2 attacks (especially easy for the high defence or high dexterity targets), do well in wars, most noticeable draw back is that it demands good med management in chains, which isn't that hard once you get used to it
Actually, you would want to stay balanced until you are about 1M in each stat, and then start balancing for the specialty gyms. If you wait until cha-cha's is unlocked, it will take you while to balance (especially if you ultimately want two specialty gyms unlocked) and that will be time wasted that could be spent in a specialty gym.
Single-stat training made more sense four years ago or longer. So older players who whored a single stat eight years ago were right for that time. With current game mechanics, a new player is screwed if he whores one stat. Most of my filler list is full of strength whores because they make such easy targets. Friends who've chosen to only train one or two stats complain that they can't do missions, or can't chain effectively. Even ranking favors balanced stats over unbalanced.
While single-stat training may have made sense once (as did the drug-free gym), when you add it all up today, these methods just do not make sense in overall game play. Even if you get a slight advantage in whoring a stat, you lose out on faction specials if no decent faction will touch you. Happiness plays a much larger part in training for new players than it did in the past.
Again, older players who played by different rules, sure. Newer players, balanced is best until / unless Ched nerfs or buffs training.
Otter lost me at "Stats don't really matter.".
He lost me after he said stats don’t matter then explained why it matters to get them higher
Don't forget temps and boosters help alot. You can go high strength and use a speed booster...
Not so if you train only defence hahaha
