First before anyone gives me any links to guides, I've already seen all the popular ones and they don't help.
I have 25NNB, so in theory I should be able to do any 9 nerve crimes or lower with minimal risk of failure, and yes I can't even pickpocket the old lady without getting jailed. Everything I've read says by now I should be doing armed robbery > thorough robbery. I don't know if the numbers where changed or what but I don't know what to do besides pickpocket the kid until I get 30... What am I missing? At 25NNB what should I be doing?
I did thorough robbery from 20 to 30. Since you dont lose ce it's a safe choice.
So getting jailed in thorough robbery doesn't reduce CE?
You don't go to jail with thorough. If you do I cant actually recall when that's ever happen to me, since I'm still doing them.

It took me about a month after getting to 25 nnb before I could do the stealth virus crime. I tried over 20 times in that period, with blue results. I kept going back to thorough robbery and was never jailed.
What is nnb and ce and how do I check it?
Just do jacket shoplifting until 30nnb then go to arson. You cannot lose CE on either of those crimes.Plenty of merits to get for "theft" which includes shoplifting.
NNB = Natural Nerve Bar and it is whatever your nerve points are without any faction increase.
CE = Crime Experience and it is an invisible XP bar that determines when you go up and down in NNB. You gain CE from green crimes, and lose CE from red.
If I were to do jackets I may as well do kid pickpocketing, but I'd rather fast track my gain as much as possible and move forward if I safely can do so.
So you had 25NNB and managed to do thorough robbery without getting jailed? Hm... Well I was told at 20 you can safely start doing robbery and was jailed on my first attempt... Maybe it's safe now. I just don't get why I could do that safely and get red after two attempts at pickpocketing the old lady.
I don't think that the old lady is very safe. She is just there to gloat when you get knocked down pickpocketing the kid. I am doing warehouse arsons now with 30 nnb, but I sometimes have 5 nerve left over and mug the kid. I still get blue results at that quite often.
I actually got jailed a bunch doing pickpockets, I disagree with that part of the guide. So I went back and did a bunch of jackets again, maybe 500 or more, then went to thorough robbery. Only had blues so far, no jail. Have since gone from 20nn to 25 and now 30.
I did few hundred robberies and then did stealth to 30. If you have read the guide as you have said......
You don't have very many jailings so you aren't in too much of a hole - and only a couple in the past 3 weeks. I couldn't do Thorough Robbery at 20 NNB, so I went back to stealing jackets until I hit 25. Thorough Robbery was still mostly blue so I stole Jackets for another week - till about 2100 total thefts. I had a few merits in CE and a few points in CE from faction. Tried Thorough Robbery again and it started coming easy.
I'm young but I'm gonna say Nash's guide is currently wrong where it says to Pickpocket for a while. Avoid jail at all costs.
Just get the 5000 searches for money in then move on to 5000 dvd's copied...You get merits for this and zero jail.
Then do 5000 jackets, again no jail at that point and more merits..And NNB 30 by this point
Then thorough robbery...no jail and keep thefts going up.
I have not heard of a rule that states you can do nerve 9 without failure when you have 25 NNB. There are loads of crimes that remain a risk, chocolate theft and pickpocket crimes, and any other robbery beside thorough.
get the stat enhancers and other things needed and try doing arson warehouse. It's a safe crime so you won't get jailed if you fail it , instead you will end up in the hospital
