My wife and I both play this, and are new to the game, is there some setting we have to check so the game knows we are on the same internet? I don't want us to get banned, I obviously understand we cant interact in any way directly or indirectly, we both just enjoy the game

No setting to check, there's something running in the background that flags multi accounts. From what has been said, if you're two different people it shouldn't flag you.
They will check your login stuff etc...Just don't use same device and don't send expensive items worth millions and you will be save
You will only be flagged as multiples if one of you is sending your entire networth to the other and not doing anything else in the game. Device and value of items doesn't matter otherwise.
Ok cause we play on the same pc, I play a lot more then she does, but I didn't plan on sending anything to her at all, Shes not sure if shes gonna keep playing, but regardless I don't wanna get banned lol...
Thanks guys!!
Thanks guys!!
Just don't ever log into each other's accounts and don't funnel resources from one account to the other. Trading/sharing is ok, but make sure everything isn't benefiting one account.

Just mail/pm our Community Manager Bogie or Staff about you and your partners accounts so staff are aware and can advise you accordingly.
Torn has a very effective automated system (The Multi Hunter) that flags accounts with suspicious activity and automatically Feds (Federal Jail) accounts that fit the criteria. Unfortunately this can in very rare cases result in false feddings and once that happens the account user has the job of proving their innocence to Staff.
If you inform staff beforehand, this could save you the hassle of Torn's Multi Hunter targeting you and your spouse. Of course you both will be under a very close watch from Staff to ensure you remain separate accounts but if that is your only aim to begin with, it shouldn't be a worry for you both.
