You can link your bank account to Paypal and just pay through that for now, I do think they were exploring options to add payment methods through google as well, not sure what the progress on that if there's any at all though.
You can also buy a prepaid visa card at a physical store with cash and make that your Paypal funding source too, tho you'll lose a few bucks to the fee for the prepaid visa
Turned used to have SMS service, not sure why that was removed. Bank transactions would complicate things as Torn is based in the UK, I assume that for any overseas players it'll mean an increased cost which would be unfair and iTunes and Playstore I supposed would be nice but Torn would have to give a cut them Apple an Google which would make it not worthwhile.
It would be trivial to add Google/Apple pay services through their respective apps, I'm sure they'll add that soon. Technically, they're not supposed to be using their own payment services there, both app stores don't allow it. So they will have to sooner rather than later. This doesn't apply to anything but the apps, of course.
But, PayPal allows you to checkout as a guest, simply using them as a payment processor for your Visa/Amex/MC without linking any accounts.
I would quite like to see GooglePlay or Appstore payment options but there are a few reasons why we presently don't - adding a new payment option is not as simple as people may think, it requires a lot of developer time (which we presently don't have spare) to integrate that into the system and is obviously a large expense.
It's a bit of a catch 22 situation with the likes of those payment methods as it's also unclear if these would currently be worthwhile.
Whilst a lot of people say they would use GooglePlay for example these same people also use PayPal without issue and fees become a huge factor at this point, PayPal transactions cost us less than 2%, Google and Apple each charge 30% and we don't want to have to unfairly make these payment methods cost more to make up for it.
So perhaps one day, but presently our current options are the only option.
