There should be an indicator for "Levels" as its easy to know whats out metrics are for current level.

If you are talking about an easy measure of our progress towards qualifying for the next level, this is deliberately hidden. It can be revealed by the fortune teller in China. If a player is level holding, their "true level" can be revealed by a candle shop job special.
If you are talking about the activity that gives experience towards the next level, and you want to know how much of what activity counts for what percentage of your experience required towards your next level, this is also deliberately not known. We are expected to stumble around in Torn with limited knowledge, except that recorded by those that have gone before us.
